This two-hour workshop, Probation 101, is designed for legal court interpreters to enhance their understanding of the probation system and its role within the judicial process. Presented by Tara Faust, a Snohomish County Probation Officer, the session will cover key aspects of probation.

By the end of this workshop, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of probation, its legal implications, and how to accurately convey these concepts.

Who is teaching?
Tara Faust has been employed by the Snohomish County District Court since September 2016. She began her career as a Legal Processing Assistant II, working on the court side with responsibilities such as in-court clerking, front counter assistance, infractions, and criminal correspondence. In 2019, Tara was promoted to Probation Officer. By 2021, she transitioned to Programs Coordinator, where she taught court-ordered driving classes and facilitated the DV-MRT cognitive behavioral program. In 2022, she moved into her current role as the Electronic Monitoring Coordinator, overseeing probationers on electronic home detention.
Certificates of Attendance will be awarded to all who arrive on time and stay for the entire workshop. Please allow yourself enough time to log on and sign in before the webshop begins. While latecomers are welcome to stay for the educational value of the webshop, we will not provide CE credit if you arrive late, for any reason.
No refunds can be given after November 11th. A $15 processing fee will apply for refunds requested before the date. Contact NOTIS for cancellation. Transfer of credits to another workshop is not allowed. No refunds will be given for reasons unrelated to this content, such as unstable internet connection, issues with the third party applications, not receiving reminders, or problems with system requirements.
