Join the Northwest Literary Translators for discussion and debate over the differences and similarities between literary translators with and without academic affiliations. We'll discuss the challenges and advantages to both situations, including perception of the translator's role, access to resources and funding, time management, relationships with readers, publishers and critics, and more. Translators currently affiliated, formerly affiliated, and never affiliated with colleges and universities are welcome to attend and share their views.
Please bring a snack or beverage to share if you can.
