Special Student Scholarship for Summer T&I Courses at Seattle Central College

Apply for a scholarship to take a CONTINUING EDUCATION course at Seattle Central College!
Purpose
This special scholarship is intended to help student members of NOTIS who enroll in a new translation and/or interpreting course at Seattle Central.
NOTE: If you are not yet a NOTIS student member, please join first (cost: $15) and then submit your scholarship application!
Application deadlines
June 30, 2022:
- Translation Quality Assurance: Reviewing, Editing and Proofreading
- Ukrainian-English: Intro to Health Care and Social Service Interpreting
Scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis (with early announcements for the Ukranian-English course). Final decisions by mid-July, 2022.
July 15, 2022:
- Introduction to Health Care Interpreting

Eligibility and Requirements
● All applicants may receive a maximum of one (1) scholarship for the 2022 calendar year.
● Applicants may only apply for one scholarship at a time, to be applied to one course.
● Candidates will be evaluated anonymously by a committee using a predetermined set of criteria.
● Priority will be given to those who answer the questions thoughtfully, thoroughly, and directly, demonstrating need and engagement in the NOTIS community.
● Recipients must be a student member of NOTIS in good standing.
How It Works
● You will register for the course and then send a copy of the invoice to officemanager@notisnet.org. We will send you a check as a refund.
After the Training
Each recipient will fill out a survey on the training. Your survey responses may be used for posting on NOTIS’s website, social, media, and/or newsletter.
Please note: In 2022, you may apply for a scholarship even if you have received a NOTIS scholarship in the past. All applicants may receive a maximum of one (1) scholarship for the 2022 calendar year.
