University of Washington professor Anthony Geist (Spanish & Portuguese Studies) presents a talk entitled "On Translating Poetry: Treading the Line between the Excessively Literal and the Excessively Liberal" for the Translation Studies Hub's ongoing Colloquium series.
at the University of Washington aims to build a cross-disciplinary infrastructure to connect translation studies communities at UW and in the Greater Seattle area and beyond. In order to create a substantial foundation for future growth of translation studies, the Translation Studies Hub is currently working on the creation of a Graduate Certificate in Translation Studies at UW. Other aims of the project include the offering of regular programming for faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students, the development of graduate and undergraduate curricula, and the fostering of additional/alternative professional pathways for graduate students.
