Course summary: In this language-neutral 1.5 hour webinar, we will examine the professional standards and codes of ethics for interpreters. We will compare and contrast the different codes and standards for different states as well as codes of ethics for interpreters in different fields. We will discuss where interpreters must “draw the line” in order to stay within the scope of interpretation. Approved by Washington State AOC for 1.5 continuing education ETHICS credits

About the presenter:
Javier Castillo is president of Castillo Language Services, Inc. in Greenville, NC. He is an interpreter, translator, consultant and internationally recognized speaker. He is a Federally Certified Court Interpreter, NC AOC certified court interpreter, a Certified Medical Interpreter, (CCHI) and contract interpreter for the U.S. Department of State and routinely interprets for international delegations and high-level speakers across the United States and abroad. Since 2007, Javier has offered training workshops for court, medical, conference and community interpreters across the United States.
