NOTIS and Folio's series of events for literary translators continues in April with a presentation about self-publishing by member Katie King and Daniel Slater of Amazon's independent publishing division. Come hear about the nuts and bolts, the ups and downs, the ins and outs of print and electronic self-publishing.
Daniel Slater oversees Author and Vendor Relations for Amazon Kindle and Independent Publishing. Daniel's background began in the publishing industry, first at Simon & Schuster and then with Penguin, as a Senior Editor. After helping lead sales for a publishing IT firm (VISTA, now Ingenta), Daniel joined Amazon to help lead growth and business development for early digital content services, such as Amazon Shorts. After overseeing the digital content business of over 60 major trade publishers (including the Big 5) for Amazon Kindle, Daniel and his team now help authors, agents, publishers, and content providers find the best solutions to help make their content available digitally and in print on Amazon.
