Peer-led support for exam prep, skill building, and professional growth
NOTIS practice groups give interpreters a structured, collaborative way to practice together — whether you're preparing for a credential, sharpening skills, or staying professionally active. Groups set their own focus and schedule, and members receive access to shared tools and meeting resources.
These groups are only open to current NOTIS members.
If you're not yet a member, you can join here:
Small, self-organized teams (usually 2–4 participants)
Members choose the goal:
• Court or medical exam prep
• Long-form consecutive
• Simultaneous practice
• Terminology or glossary building
• Language-neutral skills (memory, delivery, note-taking)
Participant-led — NOTIS does not currently assign people to groups
Materials provided:
• Practice session guides
• Templates (logs, glossaries, agendas)
• Language-neutral and language-specific resources
Shared NOTIS Zoom account for sessions over 40 minutes
• Sessions must be scheduled in advance so they appear on the shared calendar and don’t overlap with other groups
When you reach out, you’ll receive:
Access to the shared Google Drive folder with materials
Instructions for using the NOTIS Zoom account
Guidance on how to form or relaunch a group
Optional check-ins or support as needed
IMPORTANT:
At this time, practice groups are only active when members form them themselves. You’ll need to connect with at least one other colleague to start or restart a group.
Until there’s a public signup form, the best first step is simple:
