Whether it's in front of two people in a medical clinic, twenty people in a courtroom, or hundreds at a conference, when you are interpreting, you are, in essence, performing for an audience, much like an actor.
How you look and sound as an interpreter has a direct impact on the audience's perception of a speaker. Beyond the complex task of converting the ideas from the source language to the target language, being able to capture a speaker's emotions, tone and style all matter when interpreting, especially in a court setting. In this webinar, participants will learn how thinking like an actor will improve the quality of their interpretation.
Your instructor, Javier Castillo, Jr., is a court, medical and conference interpreter with more than 20 years of experience. He is also a veteran actor, having performed on stage for the last decade in dramas, musicals and improv theater. Javier has also provided voice overs and filmed various commercials and instructional videos.
