Note-taking is a skill that many interpreter workshops introduce but few really teach. This workshop is geared for experienced interpreters. You will refine and hone your skills in interpreter note-taking by building strong foundations one layer at a time. During the class time on October 1, November 5 and December 3, Dr. García-Beyaert will teach effective note-taking in a structured and incremental way. Through her hands-on, interactive approach, you will learn note-taking techniques developed by trail-blazing conference interpreters since the 50’s. Between workshops, you will be expected to practice these skills in your professional work or personal study time. By December, you will be able to rely on your note-taking skills for longer and more accurate consecutive renditions. Apply these skills in court, medical, social services or any other setting!
